Meet Dr. Suplicy

As a licensed doctor of psychology, Vitória Suplicy, PsyD, has spent more than 20 years helping clients realize the life they want and deserve is within reach.

Dr. Suplicy began her career an inpatient psychiatric unit counselor in her home country of Brazil. She also gained experience in other clinical settings like a substance abuse residential program, a methadone clinic, a hospital, at college counseling centers and in private practice. Early in her career, however, Dr. Suplicy recognized themes that lead suffering. The two most recurrent ones include:

Constant self-criticism

“Life can be difficult and we are often met with judgment, criticism and invalidation,” said Dr. Suplicy. “Therapy is just the opposite; it’s a judgment free zone where you can be yourself. Therapy also allows people to start flourishing and prepare to take that mindset out into the world.”

Difficulty being kind to one’s self

“Friends, family and life circumstances can stop many people from believing in themselves and start absorbing blame that doesn’t belong to them.” Dr. Suplicy said, “That’s when therapy can be a powerful tool. It helps put the world in perspective and peoples’ lives back on track.”

In her practice, Kindness Counseling, Dr. Suplicy masterfully integrates the best evidenced-based therapies to meet her clients’ individual needs. Some of the ones she uses includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), accelerated resolution therapy (ART), psychodynamic psychology, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and interpersonal psychotherapy.

Whether you struggle with periodic anxiety or depression, or have deep-seeded trauma, she believes no one should walk that journey alone. You are invited to book a no-obligation consultation session with Dr. Suplicy to discuss how she can help you achieve the life you want and deserve.
